JuxtaMotion Privacy Policy

Last updated:

This privacy policy explains how JuxtaMotion handles personal data in connection with the JuxtaMotion Android app, Google Play Billing, juxtamotion.com, beta testing registrations, launch notifications and support enquiries.

1. Who is responsible

JuxtaMotion is responsible for the personal data processing described in this policy.

  • Business name: JuxtaMotion
  • Dutch Chamber of Commerce number: 92113907
  • VAT ID: NL004936964B90
  • Business address: Abdijtuinen 211, 5504 EV Veldhoven, Netherlands
  • Privacy contact: privacy@juxtamotion.com

2. Video processing and storage in the app

Videos and editing operations are processed locally on the device. JuxtaMotion does not upload videos, projects or edits to its servers. No JuxtaMotion account is required, and the app contains no advertising or analytics tracking.

Project settings, annotations, thumbnails and temporary processing files are stored locally as needed for the app to function.

Exported videos are saved to device storage. Sharing an exported video through another app is initiated through the sharing function. Any subsequent processing by the selected service is governed by that service’s privacy policy.

Android backup and device-transfer features, and separately enabled media backup services, may copy app data or exported videos according to device settings. These services operate separately from JuxtaMotion. Android backup information.

Deleting a project removes its associated files from the app’s project storage. Original source videos, exported videos, previously shared copies and backups are not necessarily removed by deleting a project.

3. Google Play Billing and future paid features

Future versions will introduce optional paid features purchased through Google Play Billing.

The Google Play Billing integration can connect to Google Play to retrieve product information and check purchase status, including when the app starts or returns to the foreground. These checks can take place even when no purchase is initiated. A billing connection or purchase-status check does not itself authorise a payment.

If a purchase is made when paid features become available, Google handles the payment. The app receives purchase information from Google Play, such as product identifiers, purchase status and purchase tokens. This information is used to acknowledge purchases and activate, maintain or restore access to purchased features. Processing necessary to provide those features is based on performance of the purchase contract.

The app does not receive or store full payment-card numbers or bank-account credentials. Google processes payment and related account information under the Google Privacy Policy.

The current billing implementation stores access status and the time of the last successful purchase-status check locally. Purchase tokens are used to acknowledge purchases with Google Play and are not stored in JuxtaMotion’s local access-status records or sent to a JuxtaMotion server.

Before paid features are introduced, this policy will be updated where necessary to describe the actual purchase processing, any additional service providers and applicable retention periods.

4. Beta testing and launch notifications

Requests to join beta testing or receive a launch notification are received at timo@juxtamotion.com and handled manually through Google Workspace. JuxtaMotion processes the email address, the selected registration preference and the registration request as a record of consent. Any supplied name, message content and email delivery information are also processed as part of the correspondence. These details are used for the selected purpose:

  • Beta testing: arranging test access, sending testing instructions and communicating about participation and feedback.
  • Launch notification: sending an email when JuxtaMotion becomes available on Google Play.

Registration is voluntary and based on consent. An email address is needed to send an invitation or notification; without it, the requested email service cannot be provided. Beta registration and launch notifications are separate choices. Neither registration automatically subscribes an email address to a general newsletter, and registration is not required to use the app.

Beta feedback may include comments, device details or other information voluntarily submitted by participants. This information is used to investigate issues and improve the app, based on JuxtaMotion’s legitimate interest in resolving reported problems and improving app functionality.

If beta access is managed through Google Play, the registered email address may be provided to Google to enable access to the test.

Consent can be withdrawn at any time by replying to a registration-related email or emailing privacy@juxtamotion.com or timo@juxtamotion.com with a request to stop the relevant messages. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.

5. Contact and support

Contacting JuxtaMotion by email involves processing the sender’s email address, any supplied name, the message and any attachments.

This information is used to respond to enquiries, provide support and resolve reported problems. Processing is based on JuxtaMotion’s legitimate interest in handling correspondence and supporting the app.

Videos or screenshots voluntarily submitted for support are processed as part of that correspondence. This is separate from normal video processing within the app.

6. Website operation and service providers

Cloudflare — website hosting and security. The website is hosted through Cloudflare. Requests to the website pass through its infrastructure. Cloudflare processes technical information such as IP addresses, requested URLs, request times, browser or system information and security events to deliver content, maintain availability and protect against abuse. JuxtaMotion relies on its legitimate interests in operating a reliable and secure website for this processing. Cloudflare processes website content and customer logs on JuxtaMotion’s behalf and independently processes certain network and security information. Further information is available in the Cloudflare Privacy Policy.

Google Workspace — email and registrations. Google Workspace is used to receive, store and send correspondence, including requests sent to timo@juxtamotion.com. Google processes email addresses, message content, attachments and related delivery information on JuxtaMotion’s behalf under its Cloud Data Processing Addendum. JuxtaMotion uses these services to handle registrations, send the requested messages and provide support. The applicable legal bases are described in sections 4 and 5.

Mijndomein — domain registration. The domain juxtamotion.com is registered through Mijndomein. Its domain-registration role concerns administration of the domain and the domain holder’s registration and contact details. This role is separate from hosting and handling beta or launch registrations. Further information is available in the Mijndomein Privacy Policy.

Cookies and tracking. The website does not use visitor analytics, advertising trackers, tracking pixels or embedded third-party videos or forms. Cloudflare security features may use cookies or similar browser storage when needed to distinguish legitimate traffic from automated abuse or remember a completed security check. Their use depends on the security features applied to a request. Information about these technologies and their duration is available in the Cloudflare cookie documentation. These security functions are separate from advertising or visitor analytics.

International processing. Cloudflare and Google operate internationally. Data may be processed outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Cloudflare’s Data Processing Addendum provides for the EU–US Data Privacy Framework for covered transfers and Standard Contractual Clauses where applicable. Google’s Cloud Data Processing Addendum provides for recognised transfer mechanisms and Standard Contractual Clauses where required. Information about the safeguards applicable to processing on JuxtaMotion’s behalf can be requested at privacy@juxtamotion.com.

JuxtaMotion does not sell personal data.

Google independently processes information associated with Google Play under the Google Privacy Policy.

7. How long information is retained

Personal data is retained only as long as needed for the purpose for which it was collected:

  • Launch registrations: until the launch notification has been sent and delivery handling is complete, or consent is withdrawn earlier. Registrations are also removed if the launch-notification service is discontinued.
  • Beta registrations: until recruitment, participation and related follow-up have ended, or consent is withdrawn earlier. Feedback may subsequently be retained in a form that no longer identifies participants.
  • Support correspondence: until the enquiry and directly related follow-up have been resolved. Information needed for an ongoing complaint or dispute is retained until that matter is closed; unrelated attachments are removed when no longer needed.
  • Website traffic and security data: Cloudflare’s retention depends on the service, configuration and purpose of the data. Operational data supports service delivery and troubleshooting; information associated with abuse or a security incident may be retained for investigation and prevention. Cloudflare describes its retention practices in its privacy policy. JuxtaMotion retains any incident records it creates until the investigation and necessary follow-up are complete, unless a legal obligation or dispute requires longer retention.
  • Consent and unsubscribe records: a minimal consent record is retained while the relevant registration remains active. Following withdrawal, only information needed to resolve a consent-related complaint or prevent further messages is retained. An unsubscribe record is removed when the relevant mailing list is permanently closed and no longer used; complaint records are removed when that matter and any associated legal proceedings have ended.
  • Local purchase-access records: access status and the last successful check time are stored on the device and updated when purchase status is checked successfully. These local records can be removed by clearing the app’s data. This does not delete purchase records held by Google; Google applies its own retention practices to those records.

These criteria apply to the registration and support messages stored in Google Workspace as well as any separate working lists maintained for the same purpose. Deletion from active use may be followed by a limited recovery or backup period under the provider’s deletion procedures. Google’s Cloud Data Processing Addendum describes the deletion process for Workspace data.

Where a specific legal obligation requires longer retention, only the necessary information is retained for that purpose. Retaining evidence to handle a specific complaint or legal claim is based on JuxtaMotion’s legitimate interest in resolving that matter. Minimal unsubscribe records are used only to honour the withdrawal of consent and prevent further messages.

8. Security

JuxtaMotion applies appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss and misuse. Access is limited to people and service providers who need it for the purposes described in this policy.

9. Privacy rights

Subject to the conditions of applicable data protection law, individuals may request access to personal data, correction, deletion, restriction of processing or data portability. Individuals may also object to processing based on legitimate interests and withdraw consent where processing relies on consent.

JuxtaMotion does not use personal data for profiling or solely automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects.

Requests can be sent to privacy@juxtamotion.com. JuxtaMotion normally responds within one month. If a permitted extension is necessary, the reason and additional time required will be explained within that month.

A complaint may be submitted to the Dutch supervisory authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens, or another competent data protection authority.

10. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when the app, website or data processing practices change. The latest version will be published on juxtamotion.com with an updated revision date. Where required, affected individuals will be informed before changes take effect.
